After you’ve done a few rounds of this you can try it by imagining the muscle groups relaxing rather than actually tensing and relaxing them - hopefully with the same effect.

One method involves the 5-4-3-2-1 technique: Name five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste. This sensory awareness brings you back to the present moment and allows you to regain control over your emotions.
Remember, reconnecting with your body and emotions is an ongoing process. Be patient with yourself and practice these techniques regularly, when you’re not highly stressed. Over time, you'll find that you have more control over your emotions, and your overall sense of well-being will improve.
